The rare first edition of this travel account, published in England a year prior to the American edition, covering Louisiana, Texas, Mexico and South America, including passages on the Mexican-American War and the Texas Rangers. This copy is bound in an unusual marbled cloth publisher's binding, which includes a binder's ticket from Remnant and Edmonds, London on the rear pastedown.
