[PHOTOBOOK] Pair of inscribed photobooks.
Includes KILLIP, CHRIS. In Flagrante. London: Secker & Warburg, (1988). First edition, a presentation copy. Black cloth in dust jacket, preserved in a modern black cloth clamshell case. Fine copy; and BURKE, BILL. I want to take picture. Atlanta: Nexus Press, 1987. First edition, inscribed by Burke and with a signed postcard. Publisher's pictorial boards, in a chemise and slipcase. Fine.
The first book features the work of Chris Killip, the remarkable British photographer who documented the impact of deindustrialization on the great industrial cities of the north-east of Britain in the 1970s and 1980s. It is one of the great modern photobooks, see Parr & Badger, II, p. 299; the second features the photographs of Thailand by the legendary photojournalist. Roth 258; Hasselblad 334. Both works are scarce inscribed.
