Group of Four Chinese Export and Indian Colonial Silver Card Cases
Various makers, 19th century
Comprising one marked Hung Chong, decorated with a pagoda flanked by dragons in high relief, the reverse with travelers in a landscape, height 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm); one rectangular with architectural and garden scene, height 3 1/2 inches (9 cm); another rectangular with peasant farming scenes in relief, height 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm); and the last rectangular decorated overall with foliage, height 4 inches (10.2 cm), total approximately 9 ounces, weighable.

Architectural garden scene - traces of gilding to decoration; good detail to decoration; the cover with loss to one ring at end, the other bent
Peasant scenes - good overall; good detail to decoration including faces; good heavy gauge; the reverse with a blank cartouche, but no sign of erasure
Foliage - good overall; the shield engraved "MDG"; the interior blue lined, now soiled and some tearing to the pockets - not included in the wieght
