Philadelphia Interest: Pair of George III Sterling Silver Platters
Thomas Robins, London, 1816
Each shaped oval with shell and gadroon border, the cavetto engraved with heraldic arms. Length 12 1/2 inches (31.5 cm), total approximately 63 ounces.

The arms are those of Brown of York with Duncan of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in pretence for William Williams Brown of Allerton Hall, Leeds, who married Margaret Brockden, daughter of Issac Duncan of Philadelphia in 1812.

Generally good condition overall with light surface marking and wear as expected from casual use; clearly hallmarked; one underside engraved "32"13" and the other "30"12"; each engraved with two sets of arms; good detail to border decoration; good gauge
