Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver New York Yacht Club Trophy Water Pitcher
1892-1902
The globular body decorated with a yacht race with bands of stylized shells and seaweed, with acid-etched inscription 47th Annual Regatta N.Y.Y.C. June 9th 1892 won by Peerless. Height 8 1/4 inches, approximately 33 ounces.
The New York Yacht Club was founded in 1844 and is the premiere sailing club in the United States and a predominant force in International sailing with club members holding the America's Cup title for more than 132 years - the longest winning streak for any sport in history. The NYYC's Annual Regatta is still a highlight of the racing calendar for yachting enthusiasts.
