Under UV light one can see the remnants of an old varnish layer and scattered touches of inpaint. The inpainting seems to be used primarily to reduce the appearance of craquelure and to strengthen isolated areas of thinness to to surface. Near the right edge, near the horizon, there is 1/2 inch area of repair.
