A Chinese Jianyao 'Hare's Fur' Tea Bowl
Southern Song Dynasty
The bowl has deep, rounded conical sides and below the matte, russet-brown indented rim, is covered inside and out with lustrous blackish-brown glaze streaked with russet 'hare's fur' markings, the glaze pooling thick and, in a circle, well above the foot exposing the deep brown body and foot with its smooth and appealing deep brown color. Diameter 4 3/8 inches.
