BRIGID BERLIN Six original painted "Tit Knockers."
Six wooden drawer pulls each with a varicolored impression from Berlin's breast, four initialed and dated "BB '95" on the bottom, these titled by Berlin as "Tit Knockers." Each about 1 3/4 inches diameter (4.5 cm) and with a mounting screw into the bottom. Fine.
An unsual application of Brigid Berlin's most famous artistic self portrait, the "Tit Print," here presented on a group of six drawer pulls. Berlin playfully called these "Tit Knockers." Berlin was known to impress her ink or paint covered breasts onto sheets and the pages of books (a portfolio of 10 "Tit Prints" was assembled in 1970), but we have not located another example of this form of art with such a useful household application!
C Estate of Brigid Berlin
