CHARLOT, JEAN Picture Book: 32 Original Lithographs. Inscriptions by Paul Claudel.
New York: John Becker, 1933. One of 500 copies, signed by Jean Charlot, Lynton Kistler and Merle Armitage, the designer, this copy inscribed to the composer Harold Arlen and his wife by a friend. Publisher's card wrappers in wrap-around chemise designed by Charlot. 11 x 8 1/2 inches (28 x 21.5 cm); title page, 32 original lithographs by Charlot signed in the stone, each with title leaf and the text by Claudel. Wear with losses to the soft paper chemise, but the work is substantially intact, and has become scarce.
