[KENNEDY ASSASSINATION] A collection of AP press photographs and other materials, relating to Lee Harvey Oswald, Jack Ruby and the Kennedy assassination.
New York (?): 1963-66. Two volumes, two cloth slipcases with leather spine labels, one containing a loose-leaf folder of plastic sleeves with photographs, clippings etc., the other with a loose sleeve of photographs. Approximately 25 images in all, most with press snipes on the verso, various sizes; together with the November 23 New York Daily News with the announcement of the assassination; and the Evening News with an announcement of Jack Ruby's death sentence. The images generally in excellent condition.
A grim archive, including the famous photograph of Oswald wielding a rifle in the backyard of his home; Oswald in police custody; R.F.K. shot and dying; portraits of Jack Ruby; photographs of Warren Commission exhibits; close-ups of Oswald at the Dallas Police Headquarters; a single sheet with six images of the assassination of J.F.K.; etc. etc.
