Cover sent from Minsk to Vernon, Texas: August, 1961. An original buff envelope bearing multiple stamps and markings, hand-addressed by Lee Harvey Oswald to his mother "Mrs. M. Oswald" first to a P.O. box at Crowell, Texas which is struck out above her address at 1808 Eagle, Vernon, TX. Oswald's return address is at lower left with his signature "A. Oswald" in Cyrillic. The recto with four colorful postage stamps and ink stamps from Minsk, the verso with two stamps dated 28 August 1961 from both Crowell and Vernon, Texas. 4 1/4 x 6 1/8 inches (11 x 15.5. cm). The upper edge rough from opening, lightly handled, the envelope softly laminated as consistent with other examples. Provenance: Charles Hamilton Auctions
