[AMERICAN REVOLUTION] HARRISON V, BENJAMIN (Signer). Certification signed.
[Virginia:] 8 April 1783. Manuscript note on a slip of laid paper certifying the three years' service of a soldier in the Virginia Continental Line, signed in ink "Benj Harrison," the document in the hand of and countersigned by Thomas Meriwether. 3 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches (8 x 17 cm). A fine example; Together with a second example dated 19 June 1783, spot at center, irregular edges.

Benjamin Harrison V was a signer of the Declaration of Independence from Virginia and served as the State's governor at the time these documents were signed.
