Some people are born with the “collector’s gene”. Our dad, Edward Flower, began his collecting life by spending all his allowance, every Saturday, on postage stamps, Modern Library Classics and theater tickets. Among his memorabilia is the silver certificate his father found on the steps of the hospital the day he was born, in 1929, on the eve of the Great Depression.
