restorations and overpainting including to the cow's tail; there is an area where a piece of the rope held in the girl's right hand is missing (two piecees of the rope are detached but present, however, they may not be complete enough to repair correctly); a tip end of one of the cow's horn tips is missing; the item originally held in the boy's right hand is now mostly missing: there are losses on both ends of the intended implement; there is a small area of composition infilling and overpainting, located beneath the back half of the cow, perhaps to conceal a now missing milk pail, for example, etc., which is not glazed and is somewhat "rough to the touch;" the Meissen mark is not canceled; not blacklighted
