Sets include the works of Edward Bulwer Lytton, William Harrison Ainsworth, Benjamin Disraeli (The Earl of Beaconsfield), Eugene Field, Laurence Stern, Edward Fitzgerald, and William Makepeace Thackeray. The largest volumes measure 9 x 6 inches. Mostly bound in gilt three-quarters calf with cloth or marbled paper over boards, one set in full gilt calf. Generally sound with light rubbing and wear to spines and edges, one set with cracked joints and an old tape repair, sold as is.
