[MAPS] FADEN, WILLIAM and OTHERS. A disbound atlas of maps and sea charts.
Circa late 18th century. A group of about 20 hand-colored engraved maps, with full margins and larger maps joined, disbound and held by the spine or loose, the full sheets about 25 x 36 inches (60 x 92 cm). Wear to edges with small losses, several quite fresh, should be seen; Together with a worn atlas with maps after D'Anville and others, old marbled boards binding, contains about 36 maps of Europe and various locations around the world including Africa, Egypt, etc. Spotting to, edgewear, boards detached and some loose, should be seen, this lot sold as is.

The disbound atlas described first includes several maps by William Faden of locations in the United Kingdom and Europe, sea charts published by Laurie & Whittle, A Chart of the Coasts of Spain and Portugal with the Balearic Islands and Part of the Coast of Barbary by L.S. de la Rochette 1780, several maps of Portugal, Italy, Mediterranean Islands, etc.
