Contemporary tree calf, the covers ruled in gilt, the spines tooled and lettered in gilt with red morocco lettering labels. 8 x 5 inches (20 x 13 cm); with half titles and errata leaves, the large engraved folding map Cartes des Carolines Meridionale et Septentrionale, la Georgie, la Floride, Orientale et Occidentale after J.B. Poirson by Blondeau, frontispiece portrait of Mico Chlucco and three engraved folding plates. A sound set, free of restoration. The cover of volume I nearly detached and with two small areas of worming, the extremities rubbed and the covers of volume II with some scratches, some staining to the front blank and half-title to volume I not affecting portrait or title, a very short tear into the map at mount which is very fine overall, some spotting to plates, ink ownership markings at front of volume I, booklabels to pastedowns.
