New York: Published for the author by Kirk & Mercein, 1819. First edition. Modern cloth with a leather spine label, endpapers renewed. 9 x 5 1/4 inches (23 x 13 cm); viii, [9]-228, lxiii, pp., with three folding engraved maps (two partially hand-colored), with index at end and errata slip tipped to page viii. A fine copy overall with some uneven toning and spotting throughout, paper flaw to final text leaf in upper margin.

First edition recording Darby's travels through Ontario, Ohio and Michigan, with maps showing the straits of Niagara, the environs of Detroit, and the Northeast as far west as Detroit. Greenly, Michigan 55; Howes D66; Streeter sale 841; Sabin 18533.
