FONTECUBERTA, JOAN (b. 1955) "Elephant's Birthday,"
1996. Gelatin silver print on hand-sensitized paper, 9 1/2 x 7 inches (249 x 160 mm), verso signed, titled, dated and annotated "The exhibit and the photograph is a project by..." in pencil. Edges of print apparently deliberately distressed with crackling to the ferrotyping, and the extreme upper edge incompletely coated with emulsion, likely also deliberate.
