Provenance:
Emily Barclay McFadden Harrison Staempfli, an early patron and friend of Andy Warhol. Ms. Staempfli was also friends with many other important artists, including Pablo Picasso and Marcel Duchamp. Her second husband, George W. Staempfli, was the founder of the eponymous art gallery in Manhattan.
Thence by descent to her son, Randolph Harrison.
