New York & London: Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, [1980]. Stated first edition with the "BCDE" code, inscribed "to Rick/love/Andy Warhol" under which Warhol has added a small drawing of a heart (or a vagina depending on your read of the image). Warhol has additionally added "Andy" on the front of the dust jacket. Publisher's cloth in original dust jacket with signature as noted. 9 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches (24 x 16 cm); 310 pp., plates after photographs. A very fine copy overall, the jacket spine with a slight fade and a vertical crease to the rear flap.
POPism is a sensational read offering Warhol's recollections of the heady days of the '60s when he came to dominate the New York art scene. The book was written in collaboration with Pat Hackett, editor of The Andy Warhol Diaries and a great Warhol confidant.
