Original cloth, housed in a morocco backed case. Wear and small losses to spine tips, hinge cracked, the chemise with the bookplate of James Strohn Copley. "Jared Sparks is the real author of this work" - Sabin 29269; 2) REED, WILLIAM. Reprint of The Original Letters from Washington to Joseph Reed, during the American Revolution. Philadelphia: A. Hart, Late Carey and Hart, 1853. Second edition. Original wrappers, housed in a morocco backed case. Chips and small losses to wrappers, an unopened copy, the case with the book label of James Strohn Copley. Sabin 68621; 3) RUSH, RICHARD. Washington in Domestic Life. A fine copy, the front hinge loose, small booklabel of Ira A. Lipman; 7) [FORD, WORTHINGTON CHAUNCEY]. Washington as an Employer and Importer of Labor. Brooklyn: Privately Printed, 1889. One of 500 copies. Modern brown morocco backed cloth. Some spotting but a fine copy overall; 8) FORD, WORTHINGTON CHAUNCEY. George Washington. Paris & New York: Goupil/Scribner's, 1900. The Edition de Luxe, number 173 of 200 copies with the plates in sepia and on India mounted to Holland. 2 volumes. Nicely bound in full red morocco gilt the covers with Federal motifs and stars in gilt, the spines similarly tooled and lettered in gilt, floral silk endpapers, slipcase. 10 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches (27 x 19 cm); the two frontispieces colored, other plates in two states, uncut as issued. [San Francisco: The Grabhorn Press, Privately Printed for Herbert Lionel Rothschild, Christmas 1922]. Number 120 of 175 copies. Folio. Original vellum. Printed in red, blue and black. Some staining to endpapers and thumbsoiling to vellum, with the now detached bookplate of James Strohn Copley; 12) Bicentennial Notes on George Washington. Ann Arbor: Printed for the Commission, 1931-32. Modern cloth, seven parts in one with original wrappers bound-in, with a few photographs tipped-in at rear. This is Randolph G. Adams' copy with booklabel, gift note from Bill Reese on the front blank, fine overall; 13) FREEMAN, DOUGLAS SOUTHALL. George Washington: A Biography. New York: Scribner's, 1948-57. First edition. 7 volumes. Original cloth, all but one in the original card slipcases. Lightly rubbed, a few spots, generally fine, wear to slipcases; 14) The Journal of Major George Washington of his Journey to the French Forces on Ohio. Cedar Rapids: 1955. Facsimile of 1754 original. Boards. Fine; 15) The Life of Washington. By the Rev'd Mason L. Weems. [New York:] Limited Editions Club, 1974. One of 2000 copies signed by the illustrator Robert Quackenbush. Original decorated cloth, slipcase. A fine copy; Together with a Centennial Ribbon Commemorating Washington. Circa 1876, the ribbon made by T. Stevens, Coventry, England, of fine cream silk with red, white, blue and gold. 7 x 1/2 inches (18 x 4/5 cm). Housed in a morocco backed case. The ribbon fine with only a few small stains, with the booklabel of James Strohn Copley to the inside cover of the case.
