Classical Gilt-Bronze Mounted Mahogany Pier Table
New York, circa 1815
The rectangular marble top with reeded edge on a conforming frieze centering gilt-bronze classical figural scene above bronze mounted mahogany columns and mirror back on concave shelf all on gilt and part ebonized paw feet. Height 37 inches, width 42 inches, depth 18 inches.

Ken Farmer, Radford, VA, The Estate of O. Edward Freeman, May 20, 1994, lot 151
In Mr. Freeman's notes, he states that this table belonged to the Hon. Smith Thompson, Secretary of the Navy from 1818-1823 and Associate Justice of the Supreme Court from 1823-1848.
