Ruth McKenney was at this time at the height of her success, following her book My Sister Eileen, and while we have not viewed the issue of the publication in question (this was done for Holiday Magazine, an American periodical for which Searle did a great deal of excellent work), her contribution was clearly well illustrated by Searle.
