Italy, likely Ancona: circa 1800. Illustrated manuscript on vellum housed on a wooden roller. 4 inches x approximately 105 inches (10 cm x 2.7 meters), the wooden roller 8 1/2 inches; written on four membranes, 15 lines arranged in 23 columns, written in a well-written small but very legible Hebrew script, the text within a green and faux-gold border, initial and terminal panels with floral ornaments. The beginning of the first membrane with minor restorations, heavy wear to the initial decorative panel, the roller lacking one terminal knob on the finial.
