Russian Silver-Gilt and Cloisonné Enamel Triptych Icon

Rectangular, with an arched top, the front of the doors centering a cross amid varicolored scrolling foliage on a gilt stippled ground, all within turquoise pellet borders, the lower edge with a shaped clasp, opening to a central panel depicting the Mandylion flanked by St. Nicholas the Wonderworker on the right and the Mother of God on the left, each within borders enameled with varicolored scrolling foliage on a gilt stippled ground, the reverse of each icon panel with the maker's mark Cyrillic SZh. Height 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm), width 6 3/8 inches (16.2 cm), opened.
