Russian Silver and Niello Charka
Sazikov, Moscow, 1861
Cylindrical, the exterior nielloed with a fish scale pattern and reserved with foliate arabesques, beneath a rim inscribed in Russian: Silver chara, good to drink from it for health [Chara serebryanaya dobraya pit' iz neya na zdravie], the interior gilt, with a shaped flat handle nielloed with a soldier of the Caucasus corps standing with a rifle. Length 6 inches (15.2 cm), approximately 4.85 ounces (151 grams).
