The Via Tiburtina was an ancient Roman road tha fr t ran eastward from Rome to Tibur (modern Tivoli) in the Sabine Hills, and from there continued on to the Adriatic coast. The Lucano Bridge with the Mausoleum of the Plautius family nearby presented a famously picturesque view on this road, which was depicted by artists from the late Renaissance through the 19th century.
