[DAGUERREOTYPE-MUSICIANS] Two daguerreotypes of musicians.
Daguerreotype of Henry G. Fleming in band uniform with a euphonium. Sixth-plate, about 1854, housed in a patent frame but with the original union case, with an ink note identifying the subject. A few spots, but generally quite a bright example; together with Man with clarinet. Quarter-plate, about 1850, housed in a patent frame. Frame cracked at head, minor oxidation to edges of plate.

In regard to the first work, according to the notes in the accompanying union case, Fleming was born Dec. 4, 1824, and died May 28, 1855, the year after this portrait was made.
