Josiah Wedgwood & Sons Majolica Cobalt-Blue Ground 'Butter' Dome, Dish and Stand
Date code BBY and BFY for 1870
The mottled brown and cobalt blue dome with yellow acorn knop, the stand border inscribed Butter in Gothic script above ribbon-tied stalks of wheat and berried vine, within line brown, the interior with a white shallow dish, twice impressed uppercase marks and J, black painted ! to stand and 3 to dome. Height overall 4 7/8 inches; diameter of stand 9 inches; diameter of liner 3 7/8 inches.
