Griffen, Smith & Hill, Etruscan Majolica 'Swan and Water Lily' Cheese Keeper and Stand
Recorded as shape no. N5, circa 1884
Of cylindrical form, the cover with a pink swan finial among yellow waterlilies, the side with a similar frieze incorporating bulrushes and butterflies, alternate blossoms and lily pads on the stand border, pink interior, the stand center in brown, yellow and green and the underside in gray, impressed GSH monogram and ETRUSCAN MAJOLICA medallion mark. Height overal 7 1/4 inches; diameter of stand 8 5/8 inches.
