BEARDED MAN, IN A FURRED ORIENTAL CAP AND ROBE: THE ARTIST'S FATHER (BARTSCH, HOLLSTEIN 263; NEW HOLLSTEIN 85)
Etching and engraving, 1631, on laid paper with a cockatrice with crozier watermark, a fine impression of the third state of four, before the plate was cut at right, trimmed on the platemark, framed.
Sheet 5 3/4 x 5 1/8 inches; 146 x 130 mm.
Frame 18 3/4 x 16 inches; 476 x 406 mm.

Pale lightstain and matstain, old hinge remains at left sheet edge, some foxing and other discoloration, skillfully restored areas at three corners, some small loss and associated tears at top right sheet edge (tape affixed verso), a backed thin area with associated rippling top right corner, framed with acrylic.
