Maqueta Cabezas was created exclusively for the Vancouver Biennale. Rather than creating three separate limited-edition heads as maquettes, Marin fused the three into one to reference for posterity, the exhibition of the three monumental heads and for the occasion of the 2009-2011 Vancouver Biennale and the 2010 Winter Olympics.
