Featuring a Wide Range of Rugs and Carpets in a Variety of Sizes and Color Palettes
NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle's auction of Rugs & Carpets on February 15, 2023 saw competitive bidding resulting in exceptional prices for fine Persian and Middle-Eastern rugs and carpets. Featured were examples in a variety of sizes of such richly-patterned carpets as Tabriz, Kashan, Malayer, Lavar Kerman, Fereghan, Mahal and Bidjar, as well as fine examples from China and France.
Highlighting the sale was a mid-20th century Kashan carpet from central Iran that achieved $9,450, many times its estimate of $1,500-2,500. Measuring 13 feet 10 inches x 10 feet 6 inches, the carpet had an ivory field with floral vinery in a lovely color palette perfect for contemporary interiors.
