[ANTARCTIC] BYRD, RICHARD EVELYN Little America: Aerial Exploration in the Antarctic. The Flight to the South Pole.
New York: Putnam's 1930. First trade edition. Publisher's blue gilt stamped cloth, in dust-jacket and ?publisher's glassine, top edge blue. 9 1/2 x 6 1/4 inches (24 x 16 cm); 422 pp., plates, 2 folding maps. An unusually nice copy in the attractive jacket, which has some minimal wear to extremities but us unusually fine. The glassine has some losses.
Laid-in is a Christmas greeting from the expedition's barque "City of New York" on Byrd Antarctic Expedition stationery; a postcard from the same vessel with Byrd Antarctic Expedition stamping; and a letter on New York Byrd Antarctic Expedition stationery conveying radioed Christmas wishes to the same recipient (Catherine H. Nealy) from Commander Byrd.
