Good Pair of Matching Fubako with Fine Silver Furniture
19th Century
Both, with the identical decoration, are decorated on a dense nashiji ground with an open punt on water with bundles of faggots rest by the shore against a branch of flowering prunus; executed in gold and silver foil, usu-nashiji, okibirame and fundame hiramaki-e. The silver cord plates are each cast and chiseled in the form of a branch of flowering prunus. Lengths 16, 10 1/8 inches (40.6, 25.6 cm).
