Good Pair of Yellow-Ground Painted Enamel Bowls and a Chinese Subject Painted Enamel Small Dish
Late 18th/early 19th century
The bowls are painted on the exterior with colorful peony scrolls below a puce 'cracked-ice' border, the interior being painted with a citron on a white ground and with a yellow border painted with peony scrolls. The saucer is painted with a landscape of three sages viewing the moon within a border of brown vines; the exterior is painted with vine sprays. Diameters 6, 6 9/16 inches (15.2, 16.6 cm).
