Autograph letter signed, one page, 4to, New York, 5 November 1915, to Art Young, the American cartoonist and writer, reading "I think your drawing 'Breed' in the new number of 'Masses' is a masterpiece. I enjoy every line and form of it -- It is everywhere just enough no more no less. Fine ideas demand fine expression -- you give both. I have been feeling good all day about it and hence this outburst."
