Autograph document signed ("A. Lincoln"), with third person signature ("Abraham Lincoln") in text, one page on cream paper, oblong 8vo, [Springfield], 5 June 1839, docketed on verso. Lincoln files a Guardian ad Litem for Champion Butler, Zerulda Jane Butler and Felix Butler. The three Butler siblings are named as infant heirs to Henry Butler and beneficiaries of his real estate. Largely parted along old fold at head, partially affecting the first line of text, including name of Lincoln, some discoloration and matstaining, ink underlining of Lincoln's signature at end. Framed with black and white photographic half-length portrait of Lincoln by George Ayres, Philadelphia. Photograph with scratch through image.
