Either strip lined or lined - edges are taped. Feels like original canvas. Dirty varnish. Frame rubbing. Scattered craquelure. Scattered inpainting along the frame rubbing. Scattered inpainting within the painting: two 1 inch lines of inpainting in the upper left corner area; 1 inch area in lower left corner; 1 x 1 inch L-shaped area in lower center; 1cm spots in lower right near edge; lower right corner; scattered inpainting in the mother's face and neck; few other small spots. The signature appears to have been partially painted over or scratched out - seems to have been done by the artist.
