Two Chinese Painted Stucco Figures of Female Musicians
Early Ming Dynasty
One with a drum secured around the neck and hanging at the waist, a drumstick in each hand, the other with a lute, the fingers gently plucking the strings, both figures dressed in long layered robes with jewels around the neck and elaborate headdress, painted in red, green, blue, black and gilt, each on a footed wood base and under plexiglass on a wood stand. Height of largest 15 inches.
