Lot Details
Lot 1056
1929 $5 Indian (Last of Issue)
Beautiful red-gold lustre with bold strikes imparting strong details. The high recorded mintage lead some to believe this as a common date, however, research has shown that most of the coins were melted as a result of the 1933 Executive Order removing gold coins from circulation. A truly choice example of this seldom offered Half Eagle.
MS 63 (PCGS)
Estimate: $10,000 - $15,000
Sold for $30,000 (includes buyer's premium)
