Of an artist at the easel, signed and inscribed N.Y. 8 Aug. 1839, and To my Friend Lispenard Stewart/Nicolino Calyo. Overall 15 1/2 x 13 1/2 inches.
Lispendard Stewart (1809-1867), married Mary Rogers Rhinelander (1822-1893), in 1847. Nicolino Calyo, landscape and portrait painter emigrated from Italy, and worked in New York from 1835.
