Two Japanese Kozuka
19th Century
One in shibuichi and ji-magaki, depicting Okame holding a branch of blossoming plum, the face and hand in usu-niku-bori of silver, the dress and flowers in zogan of gold, pine branch in kata-kiri, the reverse with three quotations reading: "my forehead is high but I am not proud, my cheek is full but I am not conceited, my nose is snub but my heart is high", signed Hiro Hisa (Koju); and one of shakudo, decorated with rice cakes and iris spray, raised rim on a fine nanako ground, signed Koju. Lengths 3 3/4 inches.
