THE LIFE OF A FIREMAN: THE NIGHT ALARM--"START HER LIVELY BOYS" (GALE 3786; PETERS 627)
Hand-colored lithograph, 1854, lightstain and matstain, affixed with tape along part of bottom sheet edge verso to top mat, a few pieces of old paper and linen tape at top sheet edge verso, three tears at top sheet edge (backed with linen tape, longest 2 1/4 inch, extending 3/16 inch into the image), a few light scratches in the image at top (with applied ink), a few nicks and a 1 1/4 inch tear (backed with linen tape) at left sheet edge, some foxing, soiling and other discoloration, otherwise in good condition, with good margins, framed.
