Louis XVI Style Gilt-Metal Mounted Painted Commode
The rectangular mottled black, gray and white marble top with canted corners, above a conforming green and ivory painted case enclosing two full drawers decorated en grisaille with scenes including a semi-nude Venus being pulled in a chariot by two cupids riding a pair of leopards and led by female attendants, raised on tapering square legs. Height 35 1/4 inches, width 34 1/2 inches, depth 18 1/4 inches.
