Frame rubbing. Lined. Scattered cracquelure. Canvas is quite abraded in some areas, particularly at center. Visible stretcher marks. Scattered areas of paint flaking, particularly along the bottome edge, a 1'' area along the lower righ tedge, at the upper left, as well as a few spots at left center edge and in the man''s left arm. 2'' scuff at the lower center edge.
Substantial area of inpainting at the lower right corner as well as areas filling in an apparent scratch along the upper edge. Screening varnish makes detection of further restoration difficult though there is some visible along the left side of the man's face and into his hair and neck. Condition commensurate with age.
