Frame rubbing. Fine craquelure throughout. There is a 2 x 2'' patch on the reverse at upper center edge as well as a 1 x 4'' patch along the lower center edge. There is restoration corresponding to the aforementioned patches (the one along the lower edges appears to be a repaired tear. There is also some strengthening in areas of the woman's dress, two 1/8'' spots in her chest as well as areas in the background.

There is an old label affixed to the back of the frame that reads "Honorable Mary Howard."
