62.6 cm (2 shaku, 6 bu), motohaba 3.3cm, sakihaba 2.4 cm; shinogi-zukuri with bohi ni suehi, iori-mune, torii-zori, chu-kissaki; ko-itame hada; chu-suguha hamon of nie and nioi; ko-maru boshi. Ubu, slightly tapering futusu nakago with one mekugi-ana and kattesagari yasurime, gimei Hizen (no) Kuni Tadayoshi. Echigo saya of russet ishime lacquer and roiro wrappings. Gold-covered tsuba chiseled to resemble bark, ryu-hitsu, unsigned, 7.1 cm. Ribbed lacquered tsuka set with two gold Mito Tomoyoshi style gold dragon menuki. Iron Kaga type kozuka decorated with gold nunome asa-no-ha and fitted with a kogatana, signed Umetada. Silver wari-kogai decorated in gold and shibuichi with asa-no-ha, unsigned. Shakudo, o-kojiri, kurikata, koiguchi and fuchi-kashira carved with waves applied with silver kiku heads, the fuchi signed Yoshikazu and kao [Yoshii Yoshikazu]. Gold-covered koshiyujyo habaki.

Condition: Blade: Tiny sumi gomori 3.8 cm above the omote hamachi, 3mm above the habuchi, otherwise good state and polish. Koshirae: kozuka slide on the koiguchi slightly rubbed; koiguchi loose on saya. Uragawara reset, but original; some gold loss on kozuka.
