. Paris: E. Dentu, 1892. First edition, one of 300 copies on velin (there were 50 on other papers). Original printed wrappers in later slipcase and chemise. 12 inches (30.5 cm); half-title, tirage leaf, title, 59 pp, plus frontispiece and ten plates by Legrand hors texte. Very slightly shaken but a near fine copy of a fragile book.
With delightful colored vignettes, initials and chapter headings scattered throughout, this is among the most beautiful of the illustrated books on the craze for "Le Cancan" that swept Paris in the 1890s.
